The Best Hunting and Fishing - El Campo, Texas
El Campo is the focal point for the best hunting and fishing in Texas. Here is
why:
1) Migratory Geese, Ducks and Cranes
- the canadian geese come down three separate migratoty paths during the winter
months. All three of these paths lead through El Campo, Texas. The paths also
merge right before El Campo, Texas and split up right after El Campo, Texas.
There is no greater population of ducks and geese than El Campo and its neighboring
towns.
2) If you want to go fishing on the Gulf Coast,
one of the best spots is Matagorda Bay. There are plenty of trout, redfish and
flonder in the area. Matagorda Bay is 38 miles directly south of El Campo Texas
on Texas Highway 71.
3) If deer is more your style, 35
miles north of El Campo lands you right in the middle of the "Deer Hunting
Capital of Texas" in Sheridan, Texas and nearby Columbus. Once again just take
Texas Highway 71, except this time go north.
4) Huge numbers of white-winged doves
that have moved into the area and stayed.
5) El Campo sits on US 59 and Texas Highway 71.
It is just over an hours drive southwest of Houston, Texas.
El Campo is truly in the middle of the best the outdoors has to offer. Whether
you want to hunt duck, goose, dove, crane, deer or go fishing, everthing is
right there for you. There are plenty of guides and lodges to accomodate you.
New hotels are being constructed to take care of all the hunting vacations. You
will some great dining, entertainment and antiques in El Campo also.
El Campo really is the
"Pearl of the Prarie".
